Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 c
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1/2 c
- nuts optional - 1 item
- butter not margarine - 1 c
- large pans popped corn - 2 item
How to make caramel corn:
Melt the butter, stir in the brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Stir constantly, bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla. It will bubble up.Working quickly, pour over two large baking pans of popped corn. Stir to coat well. Bake at 250° for one hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool.
If using nuts, add them after pouring caramel over corn and stir well.
