Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/4 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
- butter or margarine - 6 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- light corn syrup - 3 Tbsp
- popped popcorn - 8 c
How to make caramel corn:
Remove all unpopped kernels. Put popcorn into a 17 x 2 x 2-inch baking pan. In a saucepan combine sugar, butter or margarine and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat until butter melts and mixture comes to a boil. Cook without stirring for 5 minutes more. Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda and vanilla. Pour over popcorn. Stir to coat popcorn. Bake for 15 minutes; stir and bake 5 to 10 minutes more. Pour corn into a large bowl; cool. Makes 8 cups.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, American.
