Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 3/4 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- water - 5 Tbsp
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
- egg whites - 2 item
- white sugar
- white Karo syrup - 1 Tbsp
How to make butter pecan cake:
Frosting:3/4 c. white sugar3/4 c. brown sugar5 Tbsp. water2 egg whites1 Tbsp. white Karo syrup Cake: Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in bowl. Stir in shortening and 3/4 cup milk. Beat 2 minutes. Add eggs, remaining milk and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Stir in nuts. Bake 30 minutes at 325°.Frosting: Beat over boiling water until desired consistency. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Frost cake and decorate with chopped pecans.
