Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- cream of tartar - 2 tsp
- soft shortening - 1/2 c
- colored sugar - 1 item
How to make butter cookies:
Mix shortening, butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Combine flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Dip top in colored sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
