Broccoli casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- Pepperidge Farm stuffing - 8 oz
- chopped broccoli or equivalent of fresh - 3 pkg
- Cheddar or Velveeta cheese, sliced - 1 lb
How to make broccoli casserole:
Make broccoli according to package directions; drain well and set aside. Combine milk, 4 tablespoons butter and flour over low heat (will be thin). Melt cheese into sauce. Heat water until hot; melt 1 stick butter into it. Add stuffing. Turn off heat. Add celery and onion. Layer broccoli, stuffing and sauce in greased casserole dish. Repeat layers. Bake uncovered at 300° for 30 minutes.Even George Bush would like this recipe.
