  • water - 1 c
  • vinegar - 2 c
  • chopped celery - 1 item
  • mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric - 1 tsp
  • cauliflower florets - 1 item
  • sliced cucumbers - 1 item
  • sliced onions - 1 item
  • sweet pepper pieces - 1 item

How to make bread and butter pickles:

Soak vegetables overnight in salt water (1/2 cup to 2 quarts water); drain. Heat to boiling the remaining ingredients. Add vegetables; return to boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Pack in sterile jars. Process in boiling water bath. Increase vinegar spice mix as needed for amount of vegetables.
