Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • vinegar - 2 c
  • celery seed - 1 Tbsp
  • mustard seed - 1 Tbsp
  • turmeric - 1 Tbsp
  • pickling salt - 2 Tbsp
  • pickling spice - 2 Tbsp
  • sliced cucumbers - 2 qt
  • sliced onions - 1/2 pt

How to make easy bread and butter pickles:

Mix vinegar and spices. Bring to a boil. Add cucumbers and onions and boil 2 minutes longer. Place vegetables in sterilized jars and seal with regular Mason lids. Close tightly and let sit for 2 weeks.
