Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 6 c
- salt - 1 c
- vinegar
- cayenne - 1/4 tsp
- mustard seeds - 1/2 c
- sliced cucumbers - 6 qt
- celery seeds - 1 Tbsp
- medium sweet onions, sliced thin - 6 item
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Mix all ingredients in large saucepan and heat to simmer. Do not boil. Pack cucumber mixture in hot jars. Cover with vinegar mix and seal jars. Let stand for a couple of weeks before eating.Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
