Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- cold water
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- cloves - 1 tsp
- seeded raisins
How to make boiled spice cake:
Boil this mixture gently for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and cool a few minutes. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons soda. When cold, add 2 cups flour. Bake in a moderate 350° oven until done, when cake tester comes out clean.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Vegan.
