  • Tony Chachere blackened fish seasoning - 1 item
  • any type of fish fillets - 1 item

How to make blackened fish:

Use iron skillet, gas cooker, fish cooker or any type of cooker that requires a high heat.

Heat a large cast-iron skillet over very high heat until it is beyond the smoking stage, at least 10 minutes. (Caution: Please do this in a well-ventilated area, best to do outdoors.) Sprinkle the blackened seasoning evenly over each side of fish, or as much as desired. Melt butter in pan, dip fish in melted butter or pour over fish. Place fish in hot skillet. Cook, uncovered, over same heat until underside looks charred or blackened (about 2 minutes). Turn fish over until done. Repeat until you cook as much as desired.
