Black-eyed pea cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- cooking oil - 1/4 c
- chopped onion - 1 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- grated Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- corn meal - 1 c
- cream-style corn - 3/4 c
- canned black-eyed peas, drained - 1 c
- jalapeno peppers, chopped - 2 item
How to make black-eyed pea cornbread:
Brown meat; drain and break into small pieces. Mix all ingredients, adding cheese last. Cook in well-greased 13 x 9-inch pan at 350° for 45 minutes or until done. This makes a large batch. Serve with a salad and ice tea.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Breads, Side dish.
