Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 4 c
- Crisco - 2 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- carrots - 6 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- beef chuck, cut in 1 1/2-inch cubes - 2 lb
- potatoes and onions as desired - 1 item
How to make beef stew:
Thoroughly brown meat in hot Crisco; add water, lemon, Worcestershire, sliced onions, bay leaves and seasonings. Cover; simmer 2 hours or until meat is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
