Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- seasoned salt - 3/4 c
- black pepper - 1/2 c
- liquid smoke - 4 oz
- beef, cut in thin strips - 5 lb
How to make beef jerky:
Combine sugar, seasoned salt and pepper; place mixture in a shaker. In a shallow pan, arrange layer of meat strips. Sprinkle with seasonings and cover with liquid smoke; repeat layers to use all ingredients. Marinate meat for 8 hours. Place aluminum foil on oven racks. Arrange meat strips on foil in single layer. Set oven temperature at lowest possible setting, leave oven door ajar and bake for 4 to 8 hours or until done to taste.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, Beef.
