Basic white sauce
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- dash of black pepper - 1 item
- butter/margarine - 2 Tbsp
How to make basic white sauce:
In saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour, salt and pepper; mix well. Add evaporated milk and water, all at once. Continue to cook over medium heat until mixture boils. Boil 1 additional minute or until thick. Yield: 1 cup.Recipe categories: Sauces, Condiments, etc., Savory sauces.
