- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- pepper - 1 item
- grated cheese - 1 c
- buttered bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- macaroni, uncooked - 1 c
- sutter - 4 Tbsp
How to make baked macaroni and cheese:
Cook macaroni in boiling salted water until tender; drain. Run hot water over it and drain again. Melt butter. Add flour and stir until a smooth paste is formed. Add milk gradually and cook until thickened. Add seasonings and cheese and stir over low heat until cheese is melted. Add cooked macaroni and place in buttered casserole dish. Cover with buttered crumbs and bake in oven at 350° until crumbs are brown, about 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Side dish, Pasta, Elbow macaroni.
