Barbecued green beans
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 c
- ketchup - 1 c
- small onion - 1 item
- cans French-style green beans - 5 item
- to 10 strips bacon - 8 item
How to make barbecued green beans:
Fry bacon and set aside; crumble. Saute onion in bacon grease. Add brown sugar and ketchup to skillet of onions and simmer for 15 minutes. Drain beans. Mix sugar mixture and beans together, then pour into a casserole dish. Put crumbled bacon on top. Bake at 300° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or at 350° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.I usually use 3 cans of beans and either leave the other ingredients the same or cut them back a little.
