Baked lentils with cheese
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- cloves garlic - 2 item
- thinly sliced celery - 1/2 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- finely chopped parsley - 2 Tbsp
- shredded cheese - 3 c
- canned tomatoes - 2 c
- large carrots, sliced - 2 item
- whole bay leaf - 1 item
- lentils, rinsed
- each: marjoram, sage and thyme - 1/8 tsp
How to make baked lentils with cheese:
Preheat oven to 375°. Combine in shallow 9 x 13-inch baking dish the lentils and the next 8 ingredients. Cover tightly; bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and stir in carrots and celery. Bake, covered, for 40 minutes, until vegetables are tender. Stir in pepper and parsley. Sprinkle with cheese on top. Bake, uncovered, for 5 minutes, or until cheese melts.
