Beef barbecue
Ingredients/Components
- beef chuck roast - 6 lb
- whole bunch celery, chopped - 1 item
- large onions, chopped - 3 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- bottle catsup - 1 item
- barbecue sauce - 3 Tbsp
- vinegar - 3 Tbsp
- Tabasco sauce - 1 tsp
- chili powder - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 2 tsp
- water
How to make beef barbecue:
Cut beef in 5 or 6 chunks. Place in roaster or Dutch oven just big enough for the size of meat.Combine celery, onion, green pepper, catsup, barbecue sauce, vinegar, Tabasco sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper and water. Pour over meat.
Heat to boiling on top of range. Cover; then simmer or bake in a 300° oven for 6 hours or until the meat is tender enough to shred with a fork. Remove fat and bone. It too soupy cook uncovered a little longer until right consistency to spoon onto buns.
This can be made ahead and frozen.
