Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • boiling water - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • applesauce
  • walnuts - 1/2 c

How to make applesauce cake:

Dissolve soda in boiling water. Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Add applesauce, flour and spices. Put soda in boiling water until dissolved. Add to mix. Add nuts and raisins. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
