Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
How to make apple dumplings:
Syrup:2 c. sugar2 c. water1/2 tsp. cinnamon1/4 tsp. nutmeg1/4 c. butter Boil syrup for 5 minutes.Mix the first 5 ingredients. Like making a pie crust, roll out into squares. Cut for size of dumpling. Peel and quarter 6 apples. Cover 6 quartered apples with dough. Pour syrup over dumplings and bake at 375° for 35 minutes. Serves 6.
