Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 3/4 c
- apples - 6 item
How to make apple dumplings:
Mix together the first 5 ingredients. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in the shortening. Add the milk. Pare and core the apples; cut in eighths. Roll dough until about 1/4-inch thick. Cut in 5-inch squares. Put 4 pieces apple in each square. Cover with sugar; generously sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Dot with butter. Place in greased baking pan. After pinching corners together, pour over syrup. Bake at 375° for 30 to 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Apple.
