Yellow angel food cake



  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • eggs, separated - 5 item
  • cold water - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • sifted cake flour
  • cream of tartar - 3/4 tsp

How to make yellow angel food cake:

Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Beat egg yolks thick and lemon colored. Add water and beat until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in sugar, fold in dry ingredients a little at a time. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff but not dry. Fold into egg yolk batter; add vanilla. Bake in 10-inch ungreased tube pan; 1 hour in 325° oven.
