  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • water - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • raisins - 2 c
  • sugar and cinnamon

How to make raisin puffs:

Cook raisins in water until water is absorbed. Set aside to cool. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs until fluffy. Sift flour with soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture with raisins and vanilla; mix well. Shape into small balls and roll in mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Bake on greased baking sheet at 350° (do not overbake). Bake until puffy and remove quickly. Wait a few minutes before removing from pan.
