Golden chiffon cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cold water - 3/4 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- egg whites - 1 c
- sifted cake flour - 2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
- unbeaten egg yolks - 7 item
- lemon or orange rind - 2 tsp
- cooking salad oil - 1/2 c
How to make golden chiffon cake:
Combine cake flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and mix in bowl, then add salad oil, egg yolks, cold water, vanilla and lemon or orange rind. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar very stiff; do not underbeat. Fold into other mixture. Pour immediately into ungreased tube pan (10 x 4-inch). Bake 60 to 65 minutes in 350° oven until golden brown. Let stand for 1 hour, then remove.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 4 hours.
