Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- eggs, separated - 6 item
- cold water - 1/2 c
- sifted cake flour
- margarine - 1/2 lb
- cream of tartar - 3/4 tsp
- orange extract - 1/2 tsp
- Add water and beat until thick
How to make yellow angel cake:
Beat egg yolks. Add water and beat until thick. Add sugar, gradually, beating constantly (10 minutes at high speed). Fold in flavoring. Sift flour and salt together 3 times. Carefully fold into egg yolk mixture.Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar. Beat until stiff enough to form peaks. Fold into batter. Pour into ungreased 10-inch angel food pan. Bake at 325° for approximately 1 hour.Icing:4 Tbsp. flour1 c. milk1 c. sugar1/2 lb. margarine1 tsp. vanilla Cook to make a paste the flour and milk. Cool. Cream sugar and margarine. Combine flour and cream mixture. Beat well. Add vanilla.
