Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • sherry - 1 Tbsp
  • ground pork - 1/2 lb
  • wonton wrappers - 1 pkg
  • scallions, chopped - 2 item

How to make wonton soup:

Combine ingredients to make filling. Place 1/2 teaspoon filling on each wonton wrapper, slightly off center. Fold almost in half, pressing edges together, then fold in half again. Pull the two corners together and stick them to each other with a little water.

Boil 3-quarts of water, add wontons and bring to boil again. Add 1/2 cup of water and bring to boil again. Drain and reserve.

Add to chicken broth seasoned with soy sauce. Can also add chopped scallions, shredded spinach and chopped mushrooms to soup.
