White bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- warm water - 1/2 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
- flour approximately - 11 c
How to make white bread:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water for 5 minutes in mixer. Add sugar, shortening, salt and 3 1/2 cups warm water. Mix. Add yeast mixture. Add 2 cups flour and beat in mixer until smooth. With a spoon, add 8 or 9 more cups of flour. Knead until smooth and let rise until double in size. Knead down; let rise again. Make 3 or 4 loaves. Let rise again.
