Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- warm water - 2 Tbsp
- yeast - 1 Tbsp
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add buttermilk. In another bowl, add flour, salt, sugar and soda. To this, add the yeast, buttermilk and shortening. Knead lightly; shape into biscuits. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Serve hot.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, Yeast breads.
