Vidalia casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 3/4
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
- saltine crackers, crushed - 15 item
- sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded - 1 c
- or 5 medium size Vidalia onions, sliced in about 1/4-inch rings - 4 item
How to make vidalia casserole:
Melt butter in a large frypan. Saute onions over medium heat until clear. Remove 3 tablespoons of crackers for topping and place remaining crumbs in lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish. Remove onions from pan with a slotted spoon. Add soup on onions, alternating layers, until full. Combine eggs and milk; pour over onions. Top with cheese and remaining cracker crumbs.
