Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1 Tbsp
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • vinegar - 3/4 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • chopped carrots - 1 c
  • onion - 1/2 c
  • green pepper - 1 c
  • red pepper - 1/2 c
  • cauliflower - 1 c
  • can white corn - 1 item
  • can small peas - 1 item
  • can French beans - 1 item

How to make vegetable salad:

Drain for 2 hours, more or less, the corn, peas and beans. Mince remaining ingredients and pour oil over all vegetables. Do not stir or toss. Let stand in refrigerator overnight.

Cook a dressing of sugar, vinegar, water, salt and pepper. Boil this for 1 minute. Pour over vegetables next morning. Then toss and stir.

Vegetables, keep refrigerated. This salad keeps well in refrigerator for days.
