Ingredients/Components

  • 25 oz
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • 1 stick butter - 1/2 c
  • can sweetened condensed milk - 1 oz
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • cocoa
  • 1/2 stick butter - 1/4 c
  • milk - 1/3 c
  • light corn syrup - 1 Tbsp
  • salt
  • confectioners sugar - 2 c
  • pure vanilla extract - 1 tsp

How to make turtle cake:

Frosting:3 Tbsp. cocoa1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter1/3 c. milk1 Tbsp. light corn syrup1/8 tsp. salt2 c. confectioners sugar1 tsp. pure vanilla extract Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Prepare cake according to directions on box. Pour half of batter into prepared pan. Reserve other half. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely. (Don't turn off oven.)

Meanwhile, melt caramel candies with butter in a saucepan. When completely melted, remove from heat and stir in condensed milk until smooth. Let mixture cool completely. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Spread mixture over cooled cake. Pour remaining batter over mixture and return to oven for another 25 to 30 minutes.
