  • shortening - 2 Tbsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • can tomato soup - 1 oz
  • hot water - 2 Tbsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • cloves ground - 1/2 tsp
  • cocoa
  • raisins - 1 c
  • nuts, chopped optional - 1/2 c
  • pkg
  • confectioners sugar
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make tomato soup cake:

Cream Cheese Frosting:1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla Mix ingredients for cake in order given, rinsing soup can with 2 tablespoons hot water. When mixed thoroughly, pour into 10-inch pie or square buttered pan. Bake in moderate oven at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.

For frosting, blend together cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth. If too thick, add milk or cream.
