Tijuana torte
Ingredients/Components
- salsa - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 lb
- ground beef - 1 lb
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- tomato, chopped - 1 item
- Cheddar cheese, shredded - 1 lb
- taco seasoning - 1 pkg
- flour tortillas - 1 item
- can green chilies - 1 oz
- lettuce, chopped - 1 item
How to make tijuana torte:
Brown beef and onion; drain. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, chilies and taco seasoning. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Place 1/4 to 1/2 cup mixture in bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan or glass baking dish. Place a layer of tortillas on top of meat, then add more meat mixture, then cheese. Layer tortillas 3 times with meat and cheese. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
