Tijuana torte
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream
- chopped onions - 1 item
- shredded lettuce - 1 item
- hamburger - 1 lb
- tomato sauce - 8 oz
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- diced green chilies - 4 oz
- picante sauce - 1 item
- large flour tortillas - 1 pkg
- taco seasoning to taste - 1/2 1
- Colby/Jack cheese, shredded - 1 lb
- can stewed tomatoes Del Monte Mexican tomatoes work well - 1 lb
How to make tijuana torte:
Brown hamburger and onion. Add tomatoes, sauce, chilies and seasoning. Simmer 10 minutes. Place 1/2 cup mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Place layer of tortillas on top. Add more mixture, then layer cheese. Repeat layers.Before adding last layer of tortillas, spread 1 1/2 cups sour cream over. End with cheese. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes until cheese is bubbly. Serve with shredded lettuce, olives and picante sauce.
