Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- sugar - 2 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- large can cherry pie filling - 1 item
- marshmallows or Marshmallow Fluff - 1 item
- Combine cocoa, water, margarine and shortening in small pan; bring to a boil
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- chopped pecans - 1 c
How to make texas sheet cake:
Sift flour and sugar in large mixer bowl. Combine cocoa, water, margarine and shortening in small pan; bring to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients; stir well. Add remaining ingredients. Grease a 16 x 11-inch pan. Pour batter into pan. Spoon cherry pie filling over batter. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Melt marshmallows, or use jar of Marshmallow Fluff. Spread marshmallows over hot cake.Frosting:1 stick oleo4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 lb. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped pecans Combine all frosting ingredients; spread over the marshmallows.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Egg.
