Texas pecan pralines
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- pecans - 2 c
- oleo - 3 Tbsp
- packed light brown sugar - 1 c
How to make texas pecan pralines:
Mix 5 ingredients in large heavy saucepan on low heat. Cool until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to high and boil to 210° on candy thermometer, about 5 minutes. Add pecans and oleo. Boil, stirring, to 230° thread stage, about 5 minutes. Cool 1 minute. Beat with wooden spoon until thick and creamy, about 5 minutes. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Cool.
