Swiss steak
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- warm water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- carrots, grated - 2 item
- stalk celery, chopped - 1 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- small cans tomato sauce - 2 item
- round steak - 2 lb
How to make swiss steak:
Cut steak into serving pieces. Mix flour, salt and pepper; pound into steak. Brown steak in oil on both sides. Mix remaining ingredients; heat to boiling. Pour sauce over steak. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours. Yields 4 servings.Recipe categories: American, Main dish, North american.
