Sweet and sour chicken wings
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cornstarch - 1 c
- water - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- vinegar - 1 c
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- catsup - 1 Tbsp
- garlic salt to taste - 1 item
- chicken wings - 2 lb
- reserved broth - 1/2 c
- oil for frying wings - 1 item
How to make sweet and sour chicken wings:
Preheat oven to 350°. Cut wings into 3 parts. Cook tips of wings in saucepan with 1 cup water. Cook until soft. Discard tips and reserve broth.For Sauce: Mix sugar, vinegar, catsup, soy sauce and broth; simmer for 10 minutes. Sprinkle wings with garlic salt; dip in cornstarch, then in egg. Fry in oil until brown. Put wings in a baking pan; pour sauce over wings. Bake for 20 minutes, turn over and bake 20 minutes more.
