Swedish meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt
- flour
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- water
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- ginger - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- soft bread crumbs
- ground beef - 1 lb
- onion, chopped fine - 3 Tbsp
- can beef consomme - 1 item
How to make swedish meatballs:
Soften bread crumbs in milk. Cook onion in half of the butter for 5 minutes. Add to bread crumbs. Add beef, spices and egg. Mix well and form into 1-inch meatballs. Saute in remaining butter in a skillet for about 10 minutes. Blend flour and water to thicken consomme. Add consomme and bake slowly for about 1 hour in 325° oven.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Ground beef, Beef.
