Ingredients/Components

  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • ground beef
  • medium onion - 1 item
  • soup can milk - 1 item
  • salt and pepper - 1 tsp
  • cans cream of mushroom soup - 2 item
  • can half and half - 1/2 item
  • to 2 handfuls oatmeal - 1 item

How to make swedish meatballs:

Mix first 5 ingredients by hand. Shape into walnut size meatballs. Fry on all sides until brown. Remove from pan, saving drippings. Cool drippings slightly and add soup, stirring briskly with a wire whisk. Stir in milk and half and half. Add more milk if needed to obtain a gravy. Return meatballs to gravy and heat through. Serve over egg noodles. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
