Chili sauce for hot dogs
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1/3 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion
- ground beef - 5 lb
- tomato juice - 1 c
- tomato sauce - 3 c
- white pepper - 1 tsp
- seasoned salt - 1 Tbsp
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- tomato ketchup - 1/2 c
How to make chili sauce for hot dogs:
In large skillet, on low heat, cook ground beef until browned, constantly beating meat to a very fine consistency. Add seasoned salt while cooking. Pour into strainer to drain well. Use 3 tablespoons drippings and return to skillet. Saute onion until clear and tender. Add drained beef. Toss well. Add remaining ingredients. When mixture reaches boil, lower heat to simmer for 1 hour. Quick cool by setting pan in ice before storing overnight in refrigerator. Remove solidified fat before reheating.
