Swedish cabbage rolls
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- finely chopped onion - 1/4 c
- cooked rice - 3/4 c
- can condensed tomato soup - 1 item
- cabbage leaves - 1 item
How to make swedish cabbage rolls:
In bowl, combine egg, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion and milk and mix well. Add ground beef and cooked rice and mix well. Immerse cabbage leaves in boiling water for 3 minutes or just until limp. Heavy center vein of leaf may be split about 2 1/2-inches.Place meat mixture on each leaf; amount depends on leaf size. Fold in sides and roll ends over meat. Place rolls in large baking pan. Mix soup, brown sugar and lemon juice. Pour over rolls. Bake at 350° for 1 1/4 hours. Serves 6.
