sugar - 2 c
vanilla - 3 tsp
salt - 1/4 tsp
flour - 5 c
soda
eggs, beaten - 2 item
baking powder - 2 tsp
dash of nutmeg - 1 item
sweet milk - 1 c
butter or shortening

How to make sugar cookies:

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Add vanilla and nutmeg. Roll on well floured board. Cut with cookie cutters and sprinkle with sugar before baking. Bake in a 350° oven until lightly browned. Yields 6 dozen.
