Stuffed shells
Ingredients/Components
- large shells - 1 lb
- pkg - 1 oz
- Italian sausage - 1/2 lb
- cottage cheese small curd, drained - 1/2 lb
- garlic cloves, crushed - 3 item
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- grated cheese - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- tomato sauce - 2 c
- coarsely grated Swiss or Mozzarella cheese - 2 c
How to make stuffed shells:
Boil pasta until firm, rinse and drain. Saute the sausage and break up into small pieces. Mix with the drained spinach, drained cottage cheese, garlic, lemon juice, grated cheese, salt, pepper and oregano. Stir in beaten egg. Stuff the shells with this mix and place in a greased baking dish. Top with tomato sauce. Bake at 350° until all is hot and the cheese melted, about 20 minutes.Recipe categories: Pasta, Main dish, Pasta shells.
