Stuffed peppers
Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 1 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onions - 1/3 c
- grated cheese - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- medium green peppers - 6 item
- cooked rice - 3/4 c
- stewed tomatoes - 2 c
How to make stuffed peppers:
Parboil peppers 5 minutes. Sprinkle inside of peppers with salt.Brown meat and onions in shortening. Add tomatoes, rice, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer until rice is almost tender.
Stuff peppers with mixture, and sprinkle tops with grated cheese. Bake 25 minutes in a 350° oven. Makes 6 servings.
