Stuffed peppers
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- ground beef - 1 lb
- cooked rice - 1 c
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 1 c
- green peppers - 6 item
- water, salted - 1 qt
- savory ground - 1/2 tsp
How to make stuffed peppers:
Cut a slice in stem end of peppers. Remove seeds and thoroughly wash. Bring 3/4 cup salted water per pepper to boil; add peppers and cook 5 minutes. Remove peppers. Preheat oven to 350°. Cook beef, garlic and onion in skillet until onion is tender. Drain off fat and stir in salt, rice and half tomato sauce. Heat mixture. Remove from heat; add cheese. Stuff each pepper and stand upright in baking dish. Pour rest of tomato sauce over peppers and bake covered 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, Beef.
