Ingredients/Components

  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • Italian seasoned bread crumbs - 2/3 c
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • green onions, chopped - 2 item
  • crabmeat - 1/2 lb
  • shrimp, peeled and deveined - 1 lb
  • mirlitons - 4 item

How to make stuffed mirlitons:

Boil mirlitons (whole) until tender. Cut in halves lengthwise. Gently scoop the pulp out of shells. Put the shells in a baking pan or dish.

Mash the pulp. In another pot, saute the onion and garlic in butter. Add shrimp and cook until pink. Add bread crumbs, crabmeat, parsley and seasoning. Mix with pulp, then fill shells with mixture.

Prior to baking, sprinkle with bread crumbs and a dab of butter. Bake about 20 to 25 minutes until brown at 350°.
