Stuffed bell peppers
Ingredients/Components
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- bell peppers - 6 item
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- tomato sauce - 8 oz
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- cooked rice - 1 c
- steak sauce - 1/3 c
- small can whole corn - 1 item
- grated sharp cheese optional - 1 item
How to make stuffed bell peppers:
In a Dutch oven or skillet, brown meat and onion. Drain grease. Add all ingredients, mixing well. Set aside. Wash peppers, cut off tops and remove seeds. Stuff each pepper and arrange in a pan or Dutch oven. Bake at 325° for 30 to 40 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top.Optional: Blanch peppers first in hot water and remove outside skin.
Variations: When in season, use red and yellow peppers to make a colorful arrangement. Try a mixture of sausage and hamburger next time.
