Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • water
  • chopped fresh parsley - 1/4 c
  • sliced green onions - 2 Tbsp
  • sliced almonds, toasted - 1/2 c
  • instant chicken bouillon - 2 Tbsp
  • finely chopped carrots - 1/2 c
  • uncooked long grain rice
  • pinch of pepper - 1 item
  • minced fresh garlic - 1/4 tsp

How to make springtime garden pilaf:

In 2-quart saucepan bring water, butter, chicken bouillon, salt, pepper and garlic to a full boil (5 to 7 minutes). Add rice and carrots; return to a full boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer until rice is tender, 25 to 30 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Makes eight 2/3 cup servings.
