Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • self-rising flour - 4 c
  • warm water - 2 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • dry yeast - 1 pkg
  • 1/2 sticks margarine, melted and cooled - 1 item

How to make spoon rolls:

Measure water into large bowl with cover, sprinkle dry yeast and dissolve in water. Add margarine, sugar and egg in order listed; blend well. Add flour slowly and blend well. Cover bowl and store in refrigerator until 1 1/2 hours before serving time. Spoon dough into greased muffin pan and let double in size. Bake at 375° until golden brown. Serve hot. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
